Pot, Politics and People: Marijuana - Medical or Otherwise - and Employers

The program will begin with a brief overview of the history of marijuana legalization and a definition of different forms of marijuana employers may encounter.  State laws regarding marijuana are reviewed, with a particular emphasis on Ohio law.  Upcoming issues with which employers will need to grapple (and in some states, are already grappling) will be the concluding topic in the presentation.

This session will provide an overview of the top ten labor and employment law issues that have faced employers in 2019 and will impact employers in 2020.  Issues will be discussed with ideas presented for addressing concerns and limiting risk.

  

 This program is pending 3.00 (general) credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management. It is pending approval in Ohio for 3.00
total CLE hours instruction.
