The “No Surprises Act” (included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, signed into law December 27, 2020) seeks to ban “surprise billing” at the federal level and will bring a host of potential changes for health care providers in 2022. Ohio now has its own surprise billing law as well, which will also take effect in 2022 and needs to be reconciled with federal law for Ohio providers. During this complimentary webinar, Vorys health care attorneys Jolie Havens and Nita Garg will provide an overview of both the federal and Ohio surprise billing laws, how they interact, and related open issues and trends observed at the state level.
