Session Description

Jim Anderson from Infoquest will share some of the latest tools available to private investigators to assist Employers' defense against questionable or fraudulent workers' compensations claims.  Meg Everett will outline how and when employers can use information developed by a private investigator at Industrial Commission hearings.

Session Description

This session will explore the key legal requirements surrounding pregnancy and pregnancy-related medical conditions in the workplace, including the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the PUMP Act and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Attendees will gain practical insights into providing accommodations, managing leave and ensuring compliance with regulations for pregnant employees.

Session Description

This presentation will focus on tips and best practices to address a variety of challenging employee scenarios that typically cause significant heartburn for supervisors and HR professionals, including but not limited to managing FMLA leaves, disability accommodations, handling aggressive and passive-aggressive employees, marijuana usage, and more.  We will review hypothetical scenarios, work through solutions and review recent case law.

Session Description

This session will outline the “Top Ten” labor and employment law developments for 2024 that every employer should know about (as selected by Tom).  The session will also provide tips to address some of the issues and look ahead to 2025.  Also included is an opportunity to ask questions.

This is a complimentary, 4-hour seminar on recent developments and updates to labor and employment laws led by the Vorys labor and employment practice group.

 

Lunch will be provided and following the seminar, there will be a networking reception to celebrate the seminar's 20th anniversary

 

 

This program is approved for 3.5 general credit hours toward HRCI/SHRM and Ohio CLE.
