This session will provide an overview of ERISA’s requirements applicable to fiduciaries, as well as considerations and best practices related to plan governance.
This session will review the standard for ERISA’s exemption for voluntary welfare benefits and discuss recent developments, including class action litigation regarding oversight of voluntary welfare benefits.
This session will highlight (1) new benefit design options including Trump Accounts and saver’s match contributions; (2) ongoing challenges for incentive compensation structures; (3) compliance concerns related to wellness “double dips;” and (4) potential elimination of in-service distribution options for retirement plans.
This session will discuss who qualifies as a beneficiary under a benefit plan; how to identify beneficiaries; the election process; and common pitfalls.
This session will cover select benefit plan administration issues, including requests for plan documents; records retention requirements and best practices; and what to do when records are inconsistent or missing.
